During the first week of school, the class will help to establish a set of rules, as well as rewards and consequences. You will be given a copy of the rules so both you and your child will know what is expected of him/her. Our classroom will use a positive approach to teach children to be responsible for their own behavior. The system I use is a computer based program called Class Dojo. Via computer, iPad or iPod, I am able to instantly reward points to students for good behavior or reinforce inappropriate choices. Parents can check the points online, through email, or a phone app for access to their child’s behavior reports. Rewards and consequences will be provided for appropriate behavior as well as inappropriate behavior. After the first week of school, I will send home your child’s code and your parent code. At that time, please log on to register. When your child logs on, he/she can create their very own unique avatar – fun! If you do not have access to technology, just let me know and I will work out an alternative solution. Thank you for supporting this system. Good classroom behavior is vital to the successful learning of all children.
